Glass Skin 101 My Easy Morning & Night Routine
Glass skin isn't about 12 steps or perfect pores. It's about hydration, layering and patience. Here's my easy morning and night routine.
Let's clear something up first: glass skin doesn't mean poreless, filtered, zero-texture skin. Nobody has that in real life, I promise. Glass skin is all about skin that looks hydrated, smooth and lit from within, like it just drank a giant glass of water. The good news? You don't need a 12-step routine to get closer to it. You need a few good layers, done consistently.
The golden rule: thin to thick
Apply your products from the most watery to the richest. Toners and mists first, then serums, then creams, and oil last, because it seals everything in. Pat, don't rub, and give each layer a few seconds to sink in before the next one.
pat pat pat, never drag
Morning routine ☀
No. 01 Gentle cleanse
If your skin feels balanced in the morning, a splash of lukewarm water or a gentle, low-foam cleanser is plenty. Over-cleansing is the fastest way to lose your glow.
No. 02 whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich
$65
Pour a little into your palms and press it into your skin. It's a moisturizing toner made with organic aloe and damask rose, and it gives every next step a dewy base. On dry days, many people love patting in a second layer.
No. 03 FRANKLY PDRN Bounce Ball Serum
$55
The star of the show. Shake, then press a few drops into your skin. This is the step that gives me that bouncy, plump-looking finish. It's fragrance-free and lightweight, so it layers easily under everything else.
PDRN = the glass skin buzzword of the year
No. 04 whamisa Organic Flowers Water Cream
$62.50
A serum-type moisturizer with a watery texture. It feels like nothing on, which is exactly what you want under sunscreen.
No. 05 FRANKLY Bright Up Sun SPF50+ PA++++
$35
Non-negotiable. Last step, every single morning, on your face and neck. Reapply if you're out in the sun for a while. The light tint means it doubles as a skin-tint on easy days.
Sunscreen is the most glamorous step. I said what I said.
Night routine ☾
No. 01 Double cleanse
If you wore sunscreen or makeup, start with an oil or balm cleanser, then follow with your gentle cleanser. A clean canvas helps everything after it work its best.
No. 02 Toner, round two
Same as the morning: press in the Organic Flowers Toner with your palms.
No. 03 whamisa Cactus Inner Skin Moisture Bouncy Serum
$67.50
At night I like to switch to this one, made with organic cactus stem extract for a deep-feeling, bouncy hydration. Some nights I layer it with the PDRN serum too. Thin to thick, remember?
No. 04 whamisa Organic Flowers Eye Essence
$70
A pea-sized amount, gently tapped around the eye area with your ring finger. Your under-eyes deserve their own moment.
No. 05 whamisa Organic Flowers Facial Oil Deep Rich
$60
On drier nights, I press two or three drops over my moisturizer. It's a blend of camellia, hazelnut, green tea and olive oils that soaks in fast. Wake up looking like a glazed donut (in the best way).
just a few drops!
Once a week: mask night
No. 06 whamisa Organic Algae Kelp Mask (5 pack)
$62.50
Real kelp sheets soaked in a seaweed and algae essence. Smooth it on a clean face, leave it for 10 to 20 minutes, then tap the leftover essence into your skin. No rinsing. It's weird, it's green, and it's the most fun self-care moment of my week.
yes, you'll look like a sea creature. take the selfie anyway.
Bonus: glass hair?
If you want the glow to reach your hair too, the VT PDRN Reedle Shot Brush Hair Serum ($47.50) is a leave-in scalp serum with a built-in massage brush and a cooling feel. No rinsing, no mess, and wash day suddenly feels very fancy.
Little reminders
- Start slow. Add one new product at a time so you know what your skin loves.
- Patch test anything new on a small spot first.
- Drink your water and sleep your hours. Skincare can only do so much on four hours of sleep.
- Give a new routine a few weeks before you decide how you feel about it.
That's it! About five steps in the morning and five-ish at night. Glass skin is less about perfection and more about treating your skin gently and consistently. Your future self will thank you. xx
